Bodybag

Who : Debby Haepers and Wendy Saunders
Age : 37 and 39
Where : Shanghai
Since : 2009
What : These two Belgian women studied together architecture in Ghent, but lost sight of each other afterwards. Four years ago they met again in Shanghai. Pretty soon they found out that they both wanted to design more than just buildings. They wanted to bring architecture to a more personal scale, closer to the body. Bodybag -without any lurid connotation- has exclusively leather accessories, bags and jewels made of raw cut or woven leather. Simple and pure. In their next collection Debby and Wendy are working on woolen shirts and knitted leggings.
Buy : The clutches start at 130 euro and are for sale at Callebert in Bruges. The Gulliver choker costs 70 euro and you can find it at Puntkomma in Lier.

bodybag goes dutch ...

bodybag finally in the Netherlands !

NieuweOntwerpers.nl in Rotterdam is selling our complete collection !
A very cool store/talenshop/gallery that promotes young fashion designers. They literally gave us a platform to present our designs in the best way to fashion loving Rotterdam.

bodybag has some affinity with The Netherlands. Wendy worked there for 6 years as an architect after graduating and was influenced by the strong conceptual thought that moves through the design world there.

The store is situated bang smack in the middle of the best shopping and gallery area of Rotterdam, so it’s perfect to drop by and check out our collections (even on a sunday). Before the others do !

new salespoint in new zealand

Taking a break from busy Shanghai and touring around New Zealand for a few months is not just good for the senses. In between bungy jumping and wine tastings, Debby also found some time to check out the local fashion scene. And it seems there is more to kiwi than flip flops.
If you’re in Dunedin and you’ve only got time to check out one store, make it Plume. Fantastic range and lovely staff. All this enhanced by the wonderful heritage architecture.

Owned and operated by Margi Robertson (the mastermind behind Nom*D), Plume stocks a gritty blend of imported and local labels - from Martin Margiela to Zambesi, Costume National to Kate Sylvester, and, of course its flagship New Zealand label Nom*D.

We are proud to be in the company of these remarkable designers and wish Margi all the best with our collection ! They sell the collection of braided leather necklaces "in chains" and the leather chokers "gulliver" for Plume in a special New Zealand edition !
